Following an incident in which a towed aircraft made contact with a passenger bridge, an assessment was carried out to determine how the stopping point during parking can be made clearer and safer. This included exploring additional tools that could support tow‑vehicle drivers in identifying the correct stopping position. One of the options under review is whether the Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System could be suitable as an additional verification method alongside existing radio communication with the Apron Controller. The potential integration of this functionality into the Pushback Support Tool is also being considered for future development, to further support drivers during towing operations.
